The West Point Lighthouse Hike
The West Point Lighthouse is about 10 minutes drive from downtown Seattle. Public parking is not available at the lighthouse but you can hike to the lighthouse from Discovery Park which has plenty of parking. Trails are well maintained and it takes 40 minutes to walk from Discovery Park to the Light house. On clear days, the reward is seeing Mt Rainier appearing to float above Seattle.
From the parking lot, take the Hidden Valley trail to the lighthouse. The North Beach trail loops back to the parking lot. Photos 1 and 2 above were taken from Hidden Valley trail where it hits South Beach. The view is awesome.

Mt Ranier from Argosy Locks Cruise
Argosy's Locks Cruise is one of their best routes. It departs from downtown Seattle and arrives at South Lake Union and you take a bus to get back to downtown for the car. During clear weather, there are awesome views of Mt Rainier. The ship uses Ballard Locks to get from the Sound into Lake Union.
10 minutes after departure, the ship leaves Elliott Bay and turns North for Discovery Point. Prepare for awesome views of Mt Rainier.
The ship passes through Ballard Locks (Hiram M. Chittenden Locks) to reach Lake Union.
